01. Our Journey: The Why Behind Practitioners Rise

Listen Now! Apple | Spotify | YouTube

There are moments that change the entire direction of your life.

For me, one of them started with watching my twins covered in painful rashes, head to toe, at just four months old.

We tried every cream, spent hundreds of dollars, and did everything. And because I was exclusively nursing, I kept circling back to the same thought: something I'm doing is causing them this pain.

Everyone kept telling me it was just bad eczema, and that we'd be managing it with steroid cream forever. But something in me couldn't accept that that was the whole story.

This episode is the personal why behind Practitioners Rise. It's the story of how my family's health journey changed what I believe is possible, and why I felt called to build a space where healing stories and the practitioners behind them could reach the families who need them.

The Question That Changed Everything

Everything shifted the day we saw a chiropractor. She asked me something no one else had: "Have you thought about food allergies? Everything starts in the gut."

We had the twins tested. Dairy, egg, nuts. Within two weeks of cutting those from my diet while I was still nursing, their skin cleared completely.

That was the moment the bigger questions started. What is actually in our food? Why are these issues so common now? And what would it look like to support the body at the root, instead of only managing the symptoms?

The Guilt So Many Moms Carry Quietly

Even after years of researching, reading labels, and trying to make intentional choices, I still found myself in a hospital this past weekend with my son. An asthma attack came out of nowhere. His oxygen dropped into the low eighties, and we couldn't bring it back up. A chest X-ray showed pneumonia, and he hadn't even seemed sick.

They started him on antibiotics, and I felt that familiar knot in my stomach. Right behind it came the thoughts so many mothers know: Am I failing him? Why haven't I figured this out by now? Shouldn't I be able to help him more?

I want to be clear about something. I am deeply grateful for Western medicine. It has kept my child safe. And I am just as grateful for the practitioners, the chiropractors, acupuncturists, and nutritionists, who have helped me understand how capable our bodies are of healing when we give them the right support. Both of those things can be true at the same time.

Why Practitioners Rise Exists

This show was born from a simple desire: to connect more families with the practitioners who are changing lives every day.

Each week, I sit down with natural health and wellness practitioners from around the country. People who have walked through their own healing and are now helping others do the same. We go deep on the things you've been Googling at midnight, and we share real tips and real resources.

My hope is that you walk away more informed, more empowered, and more confident in the choices you're making for yourself and your family. Because when practitioners rise, entire communities rise with them.

Final Thoughts

If you've ever stayed up late Googling symptoms, felt alone in a health decision, or thought there has to be more to this, you're in the right place.

There are practitioners doing remarkable work. There are stories of real healing and real hope. And there are communities getting stronger when people feel informed, supported, and a little less alone.

Thank you for being here at the very beginning of this journey.
